About The Pastor
Alfred D. Watts, a native of New Haven, CT, began ministering the Word of God in 1993, while attending the Howard University School of Law. In 1995, he graduated from law school and moved to Milford, CT with his new wife, Akiba. Pastor Watts served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ellen Bree Burns of the United States District Court in New Haven, CT. Being newlyweds, Pastor Watts and Akiba were searching for a church to call home and in which they could grow. The Lord led them to Cornerstone Christian Center where they quickly joined the church and began serving. He served as the Youth Director for five years while practicing corporate law in New York City.
In October 2000, Pastor Watts cried out to the Lord, “I want to know what you can do with one man completely sold out to you!” One month later, he was asked to become the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone. Pastor Watts left the legal profession and was officially installed as Senior Pastor on June 17, 2001.
Pastor Watts has the heart of a shepherd. God has gifted him with the ability to teach, preach, counsel and lead. He has a heart to see the Body of Christ fully equipped to do the work of the Lord.
Pastor Watts and Akiba currently reside in Hamden, CT with their two sons, Avery and Anderson.
